Most families affected by this don't know it yet. Your gift helps us find them.
Your donation funds awareness — reaching the veterans and families who don't yet know that what they're experiencing may be connected to their parent's or grandparent's service. This is the work that gets families to the point of asking the question in the first place.
Why Awareness Is the Gap
The science on intergenerational toxic exposure is still catching up. But right now, today, there are children and grandchildren of Vietnam veterans — and a much younger generation of burn pit veterans' families — living with symptoms they've never connected to their family's military history. No one has told them to ask the question.
That's the gap we exist to close. Research moves at the pace of grants and peer review. Awareness can move today — with a conversation, a shared story, a Facebook ad that reaches the right living room, a flyer at a VA clinic, a segment on local news.
Your gift funds that outreach — the work of making sure families know to ask the question, so that when answers exist, the people they're about are ready to hear them.
Outreach campaigns that reach veterans' families directly — social media, community events, VFW and American Legion partnerships, and local media
Educational materials for families and providers — so a grandchild with unexplained symptoms, or a doctor treating them, knows to ask about a veteran's service history
The Share Your Story platform — collecting and amplifying real family accounts, which is what moves both public awareness and legislative attention
This website and its resources — kept free, current, and easy to find for every family searching for answers
Advocacy operations — the day-to-day work of keeping this issue in front of legislators and the public, alongside the policy asks on this page
What We Focus On
We fund the outreach that gets families to the point of asking the question in the first place. Advancing the science and shaping policy are essential — and we work alongside others doing that work. Our role is making sure the families it's all about actually know it applies to them.
